Leafy Sea Dragons

LeafySeaDragonScalyMonsterDrawing

Under the depths of the oceans in mythology and legends of all kinds are the dark, creepy, weedy and leafy sea dragons.

Leafy Sea Dragon - Scaly Monster

You have to draw this.

In ancient mythology there were dragons that were slimy and warty and very scary - if you were in a boat.

That is why these kinds of dragons, were carved on the front of vikings ships, as they were used to protect the sailors and hopefully scare away any dragon like this that they might see in the swirling oceans.

When drawing him feel free to add any leafy fins that you might want to.

Close Up Of His Wart and Scales

Eeew, yuck, what great fun!

Does he look creepy up close?

Well, I think this guy actually looks kind of cute.

He has some fins and lots of scales to draw.

Remember to shade when you are sketching in the scales this gives them a 3d quality.

Each scale has an edge overlapping another scale, if you shadow them well they will look real.
