Gypsy Women

This is my excuse to draw more fairies that are actually gypsies.

As a fairy artist, I love to draw a gypsy woman, maybe performing a gypsy show, in wagons on a caravan with lots of gypsy jewelry, showing with tons of satin skirts and blouses.

Gypsies are colorful and rich in energy.

I will have to get to work.

These travellers come from all over the world, and are entirely enchanting and challenging to draw.

They wear some fascinating clothing.

Young Gypsy Girl

I worked on her eyes - creating sort of dark smokey eyes, and lots of experimentation with her clothing - some transparency etc.

This gypsy is a very young girl, and since she doesn't have any wings, I have not really portrayed her as a fairy.

Draw A Portrait

A close up always helps to copy and draw the face.

This gives you an idea of how to really play with the hair, notice how the strokes of the pencil change from the smooth parts of her hair to the braids. This drawing illustrates one way of creating a really deep mass of curls.

So feel free to work on the face as a separate drawing.

This can be really fun creating more of a portrait.
