I have her in a walking position - coming towards us. I created this lady vampire as a very medieval looking beauty. Notice her dress has a over-dress with a plain undergarment underneath. This is a very medieval look.

Also, created a large amulet around her neck, this is important to add a three dimensional quality to her outfit.

Creating the long flowing hair is quite a challenge, but so much fun to really play with.

So outline loosely the movement and shape of the drawing, shaping the head with or without the hair.

I usually start a drawing without the hair, but when copying you can outline the whole shape first. If you want create the shape of the head, the shoulders and work the arms and legs into a position that suits your look.

The reason I give practice is to give you the idea of what working through a whole drawing feels like. This is one of the secrets (as revealed in my drawing book). You must push through the frustration or doubt and you will come out the other end with a completed drawing.

Everytime you do this you will feel that little punch of success. It doesn't matter if the drawing is exactly the same as mine. Use it as inspiration.

Get A Good Look At Her Face

When you look closely at her face you can see how to depict certain features.

You can really get a sense of how to draw the hair, with the dark shadows, and white left as a highlight to create shine.

I did not draw any fangs - you can add if you like, sometimes a vampire looks frightening just before the fangs come out.
