This charming little aztec princess is facing up into the mystical sun. Draw this free image and improve your drawing skills while having fun too.
I tried to draw a muscular princess...I say that because there are always elements of anyone's drawing that needs improvement - and sometimes you do a better job than other times.
I really liked the finished product, so I am showing you, but the actual muscle work needs improvement.
- Well I tried...
Okay, she is in the beautiful deep dark jungles of south america, worshipping the sun, standing on an immense aztec pyramid.
Is she involved in the sacrifical elements of that culture?
I hope not.
Notice the skirt gently draped around her hips.
This is good practice for drawing clothing.
Draped clothing is a very important drawing lesson.
I also experimented with her metal breast plate.
Metal is a real challenge, and we will work drawing metal much more all over the site.
You see no matter where you are in your drawing, there is always room for improvement, so if you have an inkling that you want to draw, check out my free simple lessons at how to draw, that should get you started.
If you are ready for more, my fairy drawing book will get you at the level to work on all the free practice on this site.
Let's get drawing together - and learning...
This close up is good as you can learn to draw a face with the eye lids closed.
She is basking in the hot aztec sun, perhaps doing a little meditation, or a sun salutation.
Drawing faces in interesting positions is such a challenge, and I am working on a book about drawing faces.
It is not done yet, but soon so subscribe to my free monthly e-zine to make sure you don't miss it. I am also developing a free section with some good practice.
I love her hair and headdress so have fun with that.
Drawing hair is another whole challenge - I love drawing hair, it is magical.
