I love the whole idea of vikings - actually they are my ancestry, and there are so many costume ideas to work with. First there is the fact that they travelled all over the world, through all kinds of weather. Fabulous fur fashions are creeping to mind.
I called this my "Young Viking" because he just seems kind of sweet and innocent for a terrifying viking. I will have to work on that. In fact he looks a little - well - pretty.
However, there are some pretty good male features about him. My muscle work is improving.
Also, there is the fact that I need to work on drawing men. I admit it. So, here is a page that can provide lots of inspiration and practice drawing men. Not to mention beards.

Try drawing him by outlining loosely first, of course, and then work on the muscle of the arms.
I really am pleased with the shield and the axe-hammer. Let's face it weaponry will be very important in drawing any kind of warrior.
Start with an oval for the head, and then gently sketch the shape of his jaw and chin, then add the features. I will be creating a step-by-step book on how to draw faces - should be ready soon.
