Princess Coloring Page

Enter the realm of a Princess and color a free Princess Coloring Page.

What fairy tale is complete without a princess?

Whether she is a princess in disguise, perhaps only a poor scullery maid who should be a princess...

or a princess sleeping...

or a princess locked in a tower... by an evil witch

or an arabian princess... with heros fighting over her hand in marriage.

They are all so important to the fairy tale. So grab a Princess Coloring Page.

The princess is usually in some kind of danger, but these princesses are just sitting pretty waiting for you to color.

The first Princess I am introducing is my Rapunzel Princess.

Just click on the image to get a larger printable image, and enjoy.

However, if you want more than a Rapunzel Princess Coloring Page this link will take you to the re-telling of the Rapunzel fairy tale. Enjoy the story while you are coloring.

Next, an Arabian Princess awaits some color in her life...

A Princess must have gold and jewels!

Imagine the silks and satins she would wear, and remember that a princess of the east had access to the most beautiful fabrics and jewels in the world.

Obviously, since she is a princess price is no object.

Try blending color a blue-green veil shading her beautiful face from the sun and prying eyes.

Satins of gold and silver reflecting the colors of her palace from her skirt.

If you are interested in a princesses clothes go to Cinderella Paper Doll and if you want real princess castles go to Castle Coloring they will keep you coloring for a while.

Metallics and Shine

How to color gold and silver - getting into metallics is such an adventure. You can do it with yellows, greys, black and use lots of white for highlighting.

Always remember light and dark when coloring, brings things to life.

What kind of fabrics?

Try a brocade?

Oh yes, a brocade vest with jewels embedded in the fabric. I can imagine sparkling and swirling patterns in the fabric.

Clothing can be enhanced when coloring. You can add a pattern or just blend and smooth the color into something silky.

Also, think about coloring so that her veil seems transparent, again the coloring takes lots of highlighting to achieve that transparent look.

Also, for transparency make sure you can see another color underneath, so keep the color very light. Try outlining in a color with very little actual solid color.

I just love imagining what a princess would wear.

Don't worry, you can't go overboard these are princesses from fairy tales.

My last free Princess Coloring Page is just a young princess dancing in the woods.

Is she waiting for a big ball, dreaming about what she might wear?

Maybe she will be meeting her prince for a picnic.

I will let you imagine the colors she is wearing now, and what is in her head.

You could even try writing a story about the young princess.

I will be introducing the idea of fractured fairy tales in the near future.

Princesses love Fairy Tale Characters

For a true Fairy Tale you must create all kinds of characters, including many Fairies, and flower fairies, as there are many flowers in the gardens surrounding the beautiful castles.

All princesses would love to see a unicorn strolling in those gardens, and to see his cousin Pegasus swooping through the skies, protecting them from the more terrifying spectre of a dragon's presence.

Some of the other more treacherous, or only slightly mischievious are the mermaids at the beach, or the evil gothic fairies spinning their spells in the Tower.

However just as the saint Santa and our belief in the power of love shown by cupid we can forgive those rather nasty characters.
