Oriental Dragons

Chinese dragon masks, the year of the dragon what would the world be without the respect the Oriental Dragons earned in this culture. A japanese dragon or any eastern dragon was highly regarded.

Oriental Dragons gave blessings.

Scholars in the ancient east studied and categorized Dragons and gave much attention to their characteristics.

Celestial Dragons were said to support the heavens.

Spiritual Dragons controlled the fall of rain that waters the Earth and overlooked the water dragons.

Earth Dragons formed the rivers to make the water safe.

Other Dragons were subterranean and guarded the treasures of the Earth, jewels, gold and jade.

Many dragons of the world have an underground or underworld aspect in common. The Norse Dragons, and the Egyptian Dragons actually dwell either underground, or in the underworld.

European Dragons, and British Dragons often dwell in caves and are known for protecting treasure.

Knowledge and great Wisdom

These Dragons were not the same monstrous creatures as described in the West.

The eastern dragon was unrivaled in knowledge and wisdom.

The Oriental Dragons have treasure in common with the Greek Dragons, but the marvelous mythology of the east involves a treasure beyond what some of the other dragons guarded.

The Japanese Dragon, China Dragon, and Korean Dragon inspired tales of dragons guarding much wisdom. It is interesting how many facts about Dragons, many of the various cultures hold in common.

The commonality among so many cultures makes you wonder how real these dragons might have been, doesn't it?

Could these Dragons really have existed

Dragons of the Orient have a vast and rich history affecting the Earth the water and the heavens of the Peasants in the Orient.

Chinese sailors sometimes saw Dragons whirling and causing havoc within the roiling seas during storms.

Mostly, the Chinese Dragons were regarded as Gods and were given offerings of various forms of food and sometimes flower petals.

They prayed to them for help with diverse problems.

They thought that dragons flew among the stars and clouds talking with the Gods.
