Far East Unicorn, and the History of Unicorns
Many amazing truths have come from the Orient.
The Far East Unicorn was part of the creation story, and is also described as the magical creature who escorts the soul of nobles and other great people to heaven.
The Chinese call their Unicorn Ki Lin.
The Unicorn in China is known to be good luck or a good omen.
The presence of a Unicorn at the birth of a child signals a great life about to occur.
It is said that Confucious had one attend his birth.
Saying to another person in China that a Unicorn must have been around on your birthday is a very large compliment.
The Japanese have legends of two Unicorn-like creatures.
One apparently is a fighter for justice, and was reported to have turned up in Courts particularly if someone were unjustly accused.
The unicorn would free the innocent and battle the guilty.
The second legend describes a more lion-like Unicorn.
You will notice that lion features are often incorporated in the images of both Unicorns and Dragons, as it symbolizes great strength.
This is especially true of the Far East Unicorn.

The Mongolians and Tibetans are so used to their own Unicorns that they have reported villagers killing them and eating them.
Some say that they are nothing more than Mutant Antelope.
However, their importance was not lost on Attila The Hun, the Mongolian leader.
He actually turned his enormous army around once due to the warning a Unicorn's presence apparently symbolized.
There is a Quote from the Hymn of Buddha explaining the belief that Unicorns had magical powers of purification.
"To this day, it is said, malicious animals poison this water after sundown, so that none can thereupon drink it.
But early in the morning, as soon as the sun rises, a unicorn comes out of the ocean, dips his horn into the water to expel the venom from it so that the other animals may drink therof during the day.
This as I describe it.
I saw it with my own eyes."
